Why do I think so? They already stepped away from displaying repin counts for single pins starting from fall 2017. The official version states that they did not want to give old pins (which went viral in, say, 2014) a visible higher authority and wanted to give new content a chance. But I guess they are also too aware that repins can be easily faked through bots.

The boundary between commercial and personal is always fuzzy when you’re talking about entrepreneurs. Founders of travel companies are travel geeks. Founders of graphic design agencies are design geeks. Founders of clothing companies are fashion geeks. When you’re sharing something you’re genuinely geeky about that also has to do with how you make a living, the lines get blurry.
21. You pin anything. It’s easy to get lost in a sea of stunning images where you might find yourself repining anything that catches your eye. Don’t do it. As a brand, you’re trying to relay a message that portrays what your business is all about. Plan out your boards and outline what message or information you want your fans to walk away with before you start pinning.
They don’t want that. They already started crawling websites, but to be on the safe side, I’d recommend creating new pins for old posts once in a while. To be quite truthful with you: My first pins sucked, my layouts have vastly improved and there is still room for more improvement. I’m sure you will have (or had) a similar journey, and why not present every blog post in the best possible light at any given time, eh?
I’ve done some thinking this past week, and I really don’t have much of a Pinterest strategy 🙂  But I do think what has worked for me, and would be my best tip, is that almost all my pins are things I truly like and that fit in my niche of homemade and DIY projects.  People who choose to follow me on Pinterest know that they will find pins and more ideas on the same subjects that brought them to my blog.  And if they found me on Pinterest first and have then come over to my blog, they will again find lots of info on the same subject as the type of pins they found interesting. I think this gives some continuity to my brand and continues to give me an authentic voice on my subject.

From there you can start creating pins to landing pages and then upsell once they are on your email list. You can also create pins that direct to Amazon or to your digital product. I hope this helps!

I had not noticed that one factor about them...that they are all new. But it happened to me the other night. 4 pins from the same board went crazy all at once (crazy like I don't see on food content that is not my niche). I know it was Pinterest showing these "appetizers" to other users in Picked for you. And within a few hour it was over! So TRUE! Consistent pinning all day long is important!

The problem is, that people don’t get to pass it up. If they have chosen to use Flickr to display their work, for example, someone can go “pin” their image without the artist ever knowing, until they find it pinned all over the place and hosted on blogs. When licensing work, they may even choose to pass up a group they disagree with, say, AARP for example, yet that group can create a board to promote their work and go out and grab any image they like from the net. What then? What makes “pinning” inherently different than taking any image from anywhere and putting it on your website?

But Pinterest is different and they follow a different approach. More to the point: My first viral pin, created in April 2015, now has more than 66.000 repins and still sends about 40 people to my site every day (click to see it, even though it looks oddly old-fashioned now). Right now, Pinterest has only confirmed they are using hashtags for certain specific searches. These hashtag searches (say “Bali”) are, allegedly, shown in a chronological order. Pinterest is constantly tweaking their algorithm and what worked marvelously in 2014 is passé in 2015. You might notice that your Pinterest home page now features pins that are “picked for you”. What I noticed about those pins is there’s nothing exceptional about them in terms of the dimensions or their descriptions but they typically have one thing in common and that is recency.  Those picked for your pins are typically only 2 or 3 hours old. My new motto for 2015 – Always Be Pinning!
Once you’ve made the audience decisions, choose a maximum cost-per-click bid. Remember, it’s the amount you’d be willing to pay per click, so you’ll never pay more than that. However, you won’t necessarily have to pay such a high amount, especially since there’s not that much competition with early adopters. For example, one of my clients put $1 as her maximum, but was only charged $0.13 per click.
Pinterest is so cool. I started uploading some of my blog content yesterday to my new Pinterest account. The emails started coming fast and furious. Almost all of my repinners were women and they loved two of my categories… diet and organization. If you install a plugin such as Insert Headers and Footers, it will take you all of thirty seconds. Naturally, it only begins collecting data on visitors the day it’s installed – so do it now!

Include relevant keywords in your targeting options. Pinterest allows you to add up to 150 keywords in a promoted pin, but most marketers make the mistake of trying to add as many as possible. This results in low click-throughs and conversions. Try to have a focused and targeted approach with Pinterest keywords. This isn't Google Adwords, so you need to think about how your target customer uses Pinterest every day and target those keywords. The keywords chosen shouldn’t only be focused on targeting users, but should also maintain context with what’s offered in the pin and the web page they’re redirected to.
The connection between Pinterest and blogging is crystal clear and can be significantly beneficial to most bloggers. SEO, or search engine optimization, helps blogger content to be seen by the millions of potential readers conducting searches on sites such as Google and Bing each day. Consider using a platform like Fiverr to hire an expert designer or Pinterest marketer to help you maximize your Pinterest marketing efforts.
57. If you’re going to add links in your pins that link back to your website, be sure to tag those links so you can easily identify traffic that Pinterest generates. Such tagging should be at the pin level. The more granular your URL tagging, the better you can measure and analyze the effectiveness of your marketing. (Of course, Pinterest links aren’t the only links you should be tagging and shortening.)

8. Not installing the “Pin It” button on your browser. While this won’t actually make you look dumb on Pinterest, it’s simply something you’ve got to do! The “pin it” button makes it super easy to curate content from any website. With a quick click, you can pin an image that contains a description and a website link. Simply highlight the text you want as the description before you click “Pin it.”
Like Pinterest discusses in their Tips for Creating Customer Growth on Pinterest article, “too often, online marketing tactics focus on customers who already know what they want to buy—instead of expanding their reach to also include people earlier in their shopping journey,” which is an extremely important perspective to keep in mind when creating content for your Pinterest marketing strategy. To grow your reach on Pinterest, you need to focus on the early steps in a user’s shopping journey and that starts by telling a story and creating a need for the user to make them want to purchase your product to fulfill that need.
I feel like Pinterest runs the risk of becoming cluttered if we encourage businesses to use it when it might not be the best channel for them. Part of content marketing is making sure your content fits your channel, and filling up Pinterest with promotional noise is likely to turn users off and could ruin the service altogether.
